BRIDGESTONE TIRES

Bridgestone Tires was founded in 1931 by its CEO Shojiro Ishibashi. The name Bridgestone or “Stone Bridge” is a direct translation from the Japanese language and was created in Japan in 1932 Bridgestone was the first original tire manufacturing company in Japan to offer and to export tires internationally.

FIRESTONE TIRES

In 1900, Harvey Firestone founded Firestone Tire and Rubber Company to supply high tech pneumatic tires for all wagons, buggies, and other forms of early Twentieth Century wheeled transportation. GOODYEAR TIRES

In 1898, CEO Frank Seiberling founded the original Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company with only thirteen employees. The company started by producing bicycle and carriage tires in November of 1898. By 1916 Goodyear earned the title “The world’s largest tire company,” only 18 years after its creation. At Goodyear, innovation isn't just what we do - it's who we are.

HANKOOK TIRES

In 1941 Hankook Tire was created as “The Chosun Tire Company” in South Korea. In 1968, they changed its name to Hankook Tire. Hankook is a reliable choice in performance and stability.

KUMHO TIRES

In 1960, Kumho Tires was created, initially as Samyang Tire. In 1963, Kumho manufactured their first compact passenger car tire and broke Korean record in 1976 by producing over one million tires in a year. Kumho was established initially in Yandgong, Kwanglu City, Korea.

PIRELLI TIRES

In 1890, Pirelli entered the tire industry with the creation and development of their first bicycle tire. In 1901, Pirelli produced their original high quality, first automobile tire. Pirelli Tire now has become the fifth largest tire manufacturer in the world regarding sales.

TOYO TIRES

In 1945, in Japan, the Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. was established. In July of 1966, U.S. operations of Toyo tires began in California. Concurrently, the distribution of commercial tires began. Factory made passenger tires followed less than ten years later, then Toyo expanded into the U. S. and opened a factory tire production plant in Mt. Vernon, Illinois in 1998.
